What "1 event" means

One event = one accepted POST /v1/events call from you to us. Not one delivery attempt. So:

Pricing questions

What if I go over my plan's monthly events?
You'll get an email at 80% and 100%. After 100% we keep delivering for the rest of the calendar month — we don't drop your events — and the overage is billed at €0.04 per 1K events on the next invoice. No "soft block" surprise. We'll also nudge you to upgrade if you exceed two months in a row, since at that point Pro is cheaper than overages.
Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
Pro is monthly, paid in advance. If you cancel, you keep the service until the end of the billing month and we don't refund the partial period. For annual billing, we refund the unused full months pro-rated. Just email and ask — we don't make this hard.
Do you support purchase orders / invoicing?
Yes, on Enterprise. NET-30 or NET-60 terms, manual invoicing in EUR (or USD if needed), VAT handled correctly per the reverse-charge mechanism for EU B2B. For Pro it's card only.
Is there a non-profit / OSS discount?
Yes. 50% off Pro, indefinitely, for registered non-profits and for active maintainers of OSS projects with >500 stars. Email hello@hookcastle.com from a project-affiliated address.
Do you offer a free trial of Pro?
14 days. No card needed up front; we'll ask before charging. After 14 days, if you don't enter card details, the project drops back to Free limits — your data isn't deleted, just rate-limited.
What's not included in any plan?
We don't currently offer: per-region data residency outside the EU, on-prem / self-hosted, a managed receiver (we deliver, we don't host inboxes), or a 99.99% SLA. If any of those are blocking for you, write us — we'd rather know than have you sign up and be unhappy.
